Cartier Santos de Cartier Medium – Ref. WSSA0029

The Cartier Santos de Cartier Medium ref. WSSA0029 is a modern interpretation of one of Cartier’s most historically important designs. Its characteristic square case, exposed screws and integrated bracelet retain the unmistakable Santos aesthetic, while the slim proportions and automatic manufacture movement make it an exceptionally versatile contemporary Cartier.

Case

Crafted entirely in stainless steel, the case measures 41.9 × 35.1 mm and only 8.83 mm thick, giving the Medium Santos an elegant and relatively slim profile on the wrist. The seven-sided crown is set with Cartier’s characteristic faceted synthetic spinel.

The watch is fitted with a sapphire crystal and is factory rated to 100 metres / 10 bar of water resistance.

Dial

The classic silvered opaline dial features bold black Roman numerals, a railway-style minute track and Cartier’s signature blued-steel sword-shaped hands.

Unlike the larger Santos models, the Medium keeps the display particularly clean with hours, minutes and central seconds and no date window.

Movement

Powered by the automatic Cartier Manufacture calibre 1847 MC.

The movement provides approximately 40 hours of power reserve and was developed with resistance to everyday magnetic fields in mind. Cartier states that the Santos collection with calibre 1847 MC offers protection against magnetism of up to 1,500 Gauss.

Bracelet / Strap

Original Cartier stainless-steel bracelet featuring the SmartLink adjustment system, which allows individual links to be removed or added without conventional watchmaking tools.

The bracelet also incorporates Cartier’s QuickSwitch system, allowing it to be removed easily from the case. The WSSA0029 was originally supplied with an additional calfskin leather strap and interchangeable steel folding clasp.

Condition

Very nice overall condition with light signs of wear. No service history available.
