The IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar ref. IW502308 is one of the manufacture’s most celebrated complicated timepieces, combining the timeless elegance of the Portugieser collection with Kurt Klaus’ ingenious perpetual calendar mechanism. Housed in a stainless steel case, it offers exceptional horological sophistication in a versatile and understated package.

Case

Crafted in stainless steel, the case measures 44.2 mm in diameter and approximately 15.5 mm in thickness. The polished surfaces, slim bezel, and elegantly curved lugs give the watch a refined presence despite its substantial size. A sapphire crystal and sapphire display caseback complete the design.

Dial

The elegant silver-plated dial features applied Arabic numerals and polished feuille hands. Four harmoniously arranged subdials display the day, date, month, four-digit year, and the iconic perpetual moon phase, while the 7-day power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock completes the balanced layout. Despite its complexity, the dial remains remarkably legible thanks to Kurt Klaus’ intuitive calendar architecture.

Movement

Automatic IWC manufacture calibre 51613, featuring the renowned Kurt Klaus perpetual calendar, Pellaton winding system, and an impressive 7-day power reserve. Operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz), the movement is beautifully finished and visible through the sapphire display caseback.

Bracelet / Strap

Original black alligator leather strap with IWC stainless steel folding clasp.

Condition

Very nice overall condition with light signs of wear. The movement runs accurately. No service history available.
