Vacheron Constantin Fiftysix Self-Winding – Ref. 4600E

The Vacheron Constantin Fiftysix Self-Winding ref. 4600E combines the manufacture’s traditional design language with a more contemporary, relaxed aesthetic. Inspired by Vacheron Constantin’s historic ref. 6073 from 1956, the Fiftysix is distinguished by its sector-style dial and case architecture incorporating subtle references to the Maltese cross. This example features the particularly attractive petrol-blue dial, complemented by its original leather strap and folding clasp.

Case

The case is crafted from stainless steel and measures 40 mm in diameter and 9.6 mm thick. Its alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces give the case a refined appearance while maintaining the more casual character of the Fiftysix collection.

A sapphire crystal protects the dial, while the transparent sapphire caseback provides a view of the automatic movement and its distinctive 22K gold oscillating weight. Water resistance was rated at 30 metres / 3 bar.

Dial

The petrol-blue sector dial uses two contrasting finishes: an opaline central section and sunburst-satin outer section.

Applied Arabic numerals and baton hour markers are crafted from 18kt gold, accompanied by gold baton-style hour and minute hands. The dial features central seconds and a discreet date aperture at 3 o’clock. Vacheron Constantin also applied blue Super-LumiNova to the hands and hour markers.

Movement

Powered by the automatic calibre 1326, measuring 26.2 mm in diameter and 4.3 mm thick. The movement consists of 142 components with 25 jewels, operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and provides approximately 48 hours of power reserve.

The sapphire caseback reveals the movement together with its elevated 22K gold oscillating weight, whose design takes inspiration from Vacheron Constantin’s Maltese-cross emblem.

Strap

Fitted with its original Vacheron Constantin leather strap and original folding clasp.

Condition

Very nice overall condition with light signs of wear. The movement runs accurately. No service history available.
