The Rolex Day-Date ref. 1803 is one of the most iconic vintage Rolex references, combining timeless elegance with the prestige of the Day-Date collection. Crafted entirely from 18kt yellow gold, this example features a classic champagne dial, the distinctive fluted bezel and a traditional plexiglass crystal. Recently serviced and fitted with an aftermarket leather strap, it offers the unmistakable character of a vintage gold Rolex in a refined and understated configuration.

Case

The classic Oyster case is crafted from 18kt yellow gold and measures 36 mm in diameter.

It features the characteristic 18kt yellow-gold fluted bezel, a signed screw-down winding crown and a solid gold caseback.

The watch retains its traditional acrylic (plexiglass) crystal, complete with the Cyclops magnifier over the date at 3 o’clock. The plexiglass crystal contributes to the warm, distinctly vintage appearance of this generation.

Dial

The elegant sunburst champagne dial features applied yellow-gold hour markers, matching gold hands and a central sweep seconds hand.

The Day-Date’s signature calendar arrangement displays the fully spelled-out day of the week through an aperture at 12 o’clock, while the date appears at 3 o’clock beneath the Cyclops magnifier.

The combination of the champagne dial and yellow-gold case creates a particularly harmonious appearance, characteristic of vintage Rolex Day-Date models.

Movement

This ref. 1803 was produced with automatic calibre 1556,  featuring the traditional non-quickset day and date mechanism operates at 19,800 vibrations per hour and features 26 jewels.

Service: The watch has undergone a general maintenance service (09/2026)  and is running accurately.

Strap

Fitted with an aftermarket leather strap and aftermarket pin buckle.

Condition

Very nice overall vintage condition with signs of wear consistent with age.
