Calatrava

Patek Philippe Calatrava – Ref. 5026J-001 | Black Dial

The Patek Philippe Calatrava ref. 5026J-001 is an unusual and highly distinctive interpretation of the classical Calatrava. Crafted from 18kt yellow gold, it combines elegant proportions with a striking black dial, applied Breguet-style Arabic numerals and an asymmetrically positioned small-seconds register.

Case

The polished 18kt yellow-gold case measures approximately 33 mm in diameter. Its restrained round profile and gently curved lugs give the watch the elegant proportions characteristic of Patek Philippe dress watches of the period.

A sapphire crystal protects the dial, while the sapphire display caseback reveals the automatic movement.

Dial

The black dial is the defining feature of this example. It features applied yellow-gold Breguet-style Arabic numerals, a pearl-style minute track and elegant matching Breguet hands.

The most distinctive element is the off-centre small-seconds register at approximately 4:30, which gives the otherwise classical design an unusual asymmetry.

The combination of a deep black dial and warm yellow-gold details creates particularly strong contrast and gives the 5026J considerably more character than a conventional dress watch.

Movement

Powered by the automatic Patek Philippe calibre 240 PS, featuring the manufacture’s celebrated micro-rotor architecture.

The ultra-thin movement uses a recessed 22kt gold micro-rotor, allowing the watch to retain exceptionally slim proportions despite being self-winding. It operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and provides approximately 48 hours of power reserve.

Strap

Fitted with a aftermarket black leather strap and pin buckle.

Condition

Very nice overall condition with light signs of wear. The movement runs accurately. In-house revision in 09/2026.

The watch is accompanied by its original Patek Philippe papers.
