Rolex Datejust 36 – Ref. 116200 – Black Roulette Date

The Rolex Datejust ref. 116200 is a modern evolution of one of Rolex’s most iconic designs, retaining the traditional 36 mm proportions while introducing a more substantial case and bracelet construction. This particular example is distinguished by its elegant black dial and desirable roulette date wheel, where the date numerals alternate between red and black.

Case

Crafted in stainless steel, the Oyster case measures 36 mm in diameter and features a polished smooth domed bezel. A sapphire crystal with Cyclops magnification protects the dial, while the Twinlock screw-down crown and Oyster construction provide water resistance originally rated to 100 metres.

Dial

Elegant black dial with applied white-gold baton hour markers and luminous hands. The date display at 3 o’clock features the distinctive roulette date wheel, alternating between red and black numerals, adding a subtle but highly recognizable detail to the otherwise understated configuration.

Movement

Automatic Rolex calibre 3135, a COSC-certified manufacture movement containing 31 jewels, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, and providing approximately 48 hours of power reserve. The calibre 3135 is renowned for its robustness, precision and excellent long-term serviceability.
